Whole system winter Wellness

Winter is a great time to conserve energy from a whole system perspective. If your body naturally wants more sleep during this time, allow yourself to rest. It’s a good time to go within often, to a relaxed meditative mind state so you can be full of energy in the coming spring. The idea of preserving energy in winter is thought to help the body and immune system to be more balanced when Spring arrives and many suffer from seasonal allergies, colds and flus. Focusing on warming, nourishing foods that are easily digested, hydrating and rich in minerals might be useful. Bone broth is a good example - the morning sickness post (March 8, 23) has a bone broth recipe and this can be used as a stock base for meals and soups or on it’s own as a clear soup.
